How to build your own blog with xlog

Using xLog to build your own blog is a very simple, efficient, and modern way, suitable for those without front-end development experience to get started quickly. xLog is a blog platform built on the principles of Web3 and decentralization, with content hosted by default on Arweave (a permanent storage network), and users only need a wallet to start writing.

xlog

✅ 1. Preparation#

Supported wallets for xLog include:

2. Some AR tokens (optional, for permanently storing content on Arweave)#

🛠️ 2. Start building your xLog blog#

1. Visit the official website#

Open the xLog official website: https://xlog.app/

2. Connect your wallet#

  • Click "Connect Wallet" in the upper right corner
  • Select a wallet and authorize login
  • The first login will automatically create a blog space

3. Set up your blog#

After entering the backend, you can set:

  • Blog name and description
  • Custom avatar and cover
  • Custom domain name (a subdomain will be provided by default, such as yourname.xlog.app)

4. Start writing articles#

  • Click "Write" to create a new article
  • Supports Markdown format
  • Each article published will be uploaded to Arweave, ensuring immutability and permanent storage (you can also choose to keep it only on xLog, not on-chain)

🌐 3. Bind a custom domain name (optional)#

xLog supports binding your own domain name:

1. Set DNS records with your domain provider#

Add a CNAME record pointing to cname.xlog.app

2. Bind the domain in the xLog backend#

Go to the settings page, add your domain, and verify

📦 4. Backup and migration (advanced)#

xLog supports exporting content to:

  • Markdown files
  • Arweave storage hashes
  • IPFS nodes

This way, even if xLog is no longer maintained officially, your blog content can still exist permanently.
